Ladies, you know who you are -- the ones who still wake up early every day to wash and dry your hair. Well, we're here to tell you to skip it (not altogether, but at least every other day). You'll save time and your tresses. Shampooing and blow drying on the daily can dry out your hair, leaving you with frizzy, static-y and dull locks that are tough to tame. If you wake up in the morning with hair that resembles a bird's nest, you may think second-day hair is not for you. But it is attainable! Here are three easy fixes for second-day hair.

Woman straightening hair

First things first: If you wake to oily hair, try sprinkling a bit of baby powder at the roots to absorb some of the oil without making your hair look white and, well, powdery. Avoid using heavy product on your second-day hair if you are prone to oily locks.

1Smooth and straight

Run your flat iron through your mane for a smooth and sleek look. The idea is not to spend forever straightening every strand; this second-day fix is intended to simply tame flyaways and smooth away any frizziness at the ends of your hair. Without overloading, spritz it with hairspray to set your smooth new style.

2Wild and wavy

Will bedhead ever go out of style? We hope not! Bedhead is at its best with second-day hair, natch. So take advantage of those few extra minutes in the sack that you would normally spend shampooing. Then, get to work on your sexy just-rolled-out-of-bed look. If you have naturally wavy hair, you need little more than a great volumizing product and a teasing comb. (Don't over do it, ladies. Bedhead hair and Jersey hair are two very different things.) To achieve a wavy look, heat up a large-barreled curling iron and randomly curl some strands. Remember that bedhead should not look purposeful, or perfect. Rub a bit of styling product on your hands, tousle your hair with your fingers, and spray with just a touch of hairspray.

Quick TipAnother easy way to achieve the wavy bedhead look: Divide you hair into sections and twist each into a bun. Spray your entire head with hairspray and blow dry just until the hairspray is dry. Undo the buns, flip your head over, shake out your hair, add a little styling product and ooh la la! Bedhead accomplished.

3Up and away

If you have long locks, sometimes the best and easiest way to achieve second-day hair is to pull it up, up and away. A sleek ponytail can work equally well for running errands and running a meeting, and it's so easy. Brush all your hair back, use a small amount of pomade to smooth any flyaways, then secure the pony at the nape of your neck (skip high ponies for the office). Have fun with some accessorized ponytail holders.Run your flat iron through your hair to ensure a smooth and sophisticated look.

You don't have to resort to topping your second-day tresses with a hat. Simply try some of these hair helpers and hit the snooze button one more time!
